Dr. Linda Hsu is a leading urologic oncologist whose research has fundamentally advanced the surgical management of prostate and kidney cancers. Her work centers on optimizing outcomes in high-risk disease, particularly through the refinement of robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP). Dr. Hsu’s most impactful contribution is a landmark multi-institutional study of 1,100 patients, which demonstrated that RARP can achieve excellent long-term cancer control in clinically high-risk prostate cancer, a finding cited over 100 times. She has also critically examined the controversial role of positive surgical margins, showing that their prognostic significance varies based on other tumor characteristics. Beyond prostate cancer, Dr. Hsu has pioneered the use of robotic assistance for the daunting surgical challenge of renal cell carcinoma with level 4 cavoatrial thrombus.
