Lang Nguyen is a pioneering urologic surgeon whose work has fundamentally reshaped post-prostatectomy outcomes, particularly in urinary continence. His primary research focuses on advanced reconstructive techniques for the vesico-urethral junction and the surgical mitigation of anatomical risk factors. Nguyen's landmark 2008 paper, "Total reconstruction of the vesico-urethral junction" (214 citations), introduced a novel, composite surgical technique that dramatically improved early continence rates compared to procedures with no or partial reconstruction.
