Dr. Kuang‐Hsi Chang is a pioneering urologic surgeon whose work has fundamentally shaped the practice of robotic-assisted surgery, particularly for prostate cancer. His primary research focuses on optimizing surgical techniques, defining learning curves, and improving oncologic and functional outcomes in robotic-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (RALP). Dr. Chang’s landmark analysis of a single-surgeon series of 500 RALP cases (44 citations) established critical benchmarks for the surgical learning curve, demonstrating that cancer control outcomes significantly improve after the initial 250 procedures.
