Kenning Arlitsch is a leading figure in the development of digital libraries and institutional repositories (IRs), with a primary focus on improving the discoverability, usage analytics, and performance of scholarly content. His major contributions center on exposing the critical flaws in standard IR log file reporting, which often produce unreliable download metrics. To solve this, he created the **Repository Analytics and Metrics Portal (RAMP)**, a groundbreaking tool that provides more accurate and actionable data on item usage. His seminal 2017 paper introducing RAMP has garnered 15 citations, while his subsequent 2020 study, which aggregated data from 35 institutional repositories, has earned 9 citations.
