Kenjiro Yamada is a pioneering researcher in human-computer interaction, specializing in virtual reality (VR) and telepresence systems. His key contributions address a fundamental challenge in VR: the occlusion of users' faces by head-mounted displays (HMDs), which impedes natural face-to-face communication in shared virtual spaces.
