About
Kazutaka Saito is a Japanese urological surgeon and researcher whose work sits at the intersection of minimally invasive surgery, robotic-assisted urology, and surgical technology innovation. His early contributions focused on advancing visualization systems for endoscopic procedures, most notably his development of a three-dimensional head-mounted display system (TMDU-S-3D) for minimally invasive surgery, which garnered 63 citations and demonstrated the potential of wearable display technology in the operating room. He later extended this concept by designing an image monitoring system enabling surgical assistants to share the immersive 3D perspective during da Vinci procedures.
