About
Akinori Nakayama is a leading urologic surgeon and researcher whose work centers on advancing robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) for prostate cancer, particularly through the evaluation of novel surgical technologies and large-scale prognostic analyses. His most impactful contribution is the pioneering clinical implementation of the hinotori™ Surgical Robot System (HSRS), the first made-in-Japan robotic platform, for radical prostatectomy. In a landmark 2024 study (29 citations), Nakayama reported the initial outcomes and learning curve for this system, establishing its feasibility and safety.
