About
Dr. Karim ElSahwi is a leading gynecologic oncologist whose research has significantly advanced the surgical management of endometrial cancer, particularly through the adoption and refinement of robotic-assisted techniques. His work has been instrumental in demonstrating the safety and efficacy of robotic surgery for complex patient populations, most notably in his highly cited 2011 study comparing 155 robotic to 150 open surgical staging cases (72 citations) and his 2012 analysis of outcomes in obese and morbidly obese patients undergoing robotic hysterectomy (60 citations). Dr. ElSahwi has also made critical contributions to postoperative care, including his investigation of vaginal cuff dehiscence in robotic hysterectomy (38 citations) and his recent work on extended venous thromboembolism prophylaxis after robotic staging.
