Juan Bulacio is a neurosurgeon and clinical researcher whose work has significantly advanced the diagnosis and surgical treatment of medically intractable epilepsy, with a particular focus on stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG). His most influential contribution, a 2015 study on robot-assisted SEEG implantation (318 citations), helped establish robotic techniques as a safer, more precise alternative to traditional intracranial electrode placement, transforming how epileptic networks are mapped in surgical centers worldwide.
