Dr. Joseph Pugh is a urologic surgeon and researcher whose work has advanced the field of robotic surgery for upper urinary tract malignancies. His primary research focus is the application of minimally invasive robotic techniques for complex oncologic procedures, particularly for upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC). Dr. Pugh’s major contributions include demonstrating the safety and feasibility of robot-assisted nephroureterectomy (RANU), as evidenced by his multi-institutional series (53 citations), which provided critical perioperative outcome data.
