About
Jae Young Kwak is a leading colorectal surgeon whose research has significantly advanced the field of minimally invasive surgical oncology, particularly in the treatment of rectal cancer. His work centers on comparing robot-assisted surgery with conventional open techniques, aiming to improve patient outcomes while maintaining oncological safety. Kwak’s major contributions include demonstrating the technical and oncological validity of robot-assisted sphincter-saving operations (SSOs) and abdominoperineal resections.
