About

J. Scott Rankin is a pioneering cardiothoracic surgeon whose research has fundamentally advanced robotic cardiac surgery, particularly in mitral and aortic valve repair. His work demonstrates that robotic mitral valve operations, when performed by experienced surgeons, are not only cost-neutral but also durable at one year—a landmark finding that has helped validate minimally invasive approaches in cardiac surgery.
