Henrik Frystyk Nielsen is a pioneering computer scientist whose foundational work in web protocols and networked systems has shaped the modern internet. Nielsen’s most influential contribution is his seminal 1997 study on the network performance effects of HTTP/1.1, CSS1, and PNG, which garnered over 215 citations.
