About
Havva Uyar is a leading researcher at the intersection of agricultural technology, sustainability, and stakeholder engagement. Her work primarily focuses on the economic and environmental implications of digital agricultural technologies (DATs) and the human dimensions of smart farming adoption. Her most impactful contribution, a comprehensive 2024 review with 124 citations, synthesizes data from 136 peer-reviewed papers and 28 EU project documents to demonstrate how DATs can significantly enhance crop production efficiency while reducing environmental footprints. This work provides a critical evidence base for policymakers and farmers navigating the green transition. Uyar also advances the practical deployment of agricultural robotics through her stakeholder analysis, which gathered feedback from 104 participants via mixed-method questionnaires. This research, part of the Robs4Crops project, reveals the nuanced perceptions and barriers that shape the adoption of robotic solutions in real-world farming contexts. By bridging technical innovation with social science, Uyar’s work ensures that the future of smart agriculture is not only technologically sound but also economically viable and socially accepted.
