About

Harald Hoppe is a pioneer in the field of computer-assisted surgery and augmented reality (AR) in medicine. His research centers on intraoperative visualization, surgical robotics, and projector-based AR systems, which aim to bridge the gap between preoperative planning and real-time surgical execution. Hoppe’s major contributions include developing a novel, accurate, and easy-to-implement camera and video projector model (2002, 14 citations) and creating a clinical prototype for projector-based AR that enables surgeons to visualize planning data directly onto the patient during an intervention (2001, 15 citations).
