About
Dr. Hanyue Li is a pioneering thoracic surgeon whose work has fundamentally advanced the field of robotic-assisted thoracic surgery in China. Her research focuses on minimally invasive surgical techniques, particularly the application of the Da Vinci robotic system for complex mediastinal and pulmonary procedures. Dr. Li’s major contributions include demonstrating the safety, feasibility, and superior perioperative outcomes of robotic surgery on a large scale. She led the first and largest Chinese series of robotic-assisted mediastinal surgeries, reporting on 167 consecutive cases, and published a landmark series of 389 Da Vinci robot-assisted lobectomies for non-small cell lung cancer. These studies, which have garnered 24 and 19 citations respectively, established critical benchmarks and standardized surgical techniques for robotic lobectomy in China. Her work at Shanghai Chest Hospital has been instrumental in transitioning thoracic surgery from traditional thoracoscopy to robotic platforms, improving patient recovery and surgical precision. Dr. Li’s clinical series remain foundational references for surgeons adopting robotic approaches in thoracic oncology.
