Hanyang Li is pioneering the integration of haptic intelligence into robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgery (RMIS), addressing one of the field’s most critical gaps: the absence of force feedback. His research centers on developing highly sensitive, multi-axis MEMS-based force sensors—both piezoresistive and capacitive—that can be seamlessly integrated into surgical instruments.
