About
Hamied Nabizada is a researcher at the forefront of aerospace systems engineering and artificial intelligence integration. His work centers on two critical, interconnected domains: the future of automated commercial aircraft production and the formalization of AI planning within complex system models. In his highly cited 2022 paper, "Challenges in Automated Commercial Aircraft Production" (23 citations), Nabizada tackles the formidable obstacles facing civil aviation, from the shift to carbon-neutral technologies like liquid hydrogen to the intensifying competition in the single-aisle market. This work has become a key reference for understanding the intersection of manufacturing automation and sustainability. More recently, Nabizada has pioneered a novel approach to system modeling with his 2025 paper on integrating AI planning semantics into SysML. By developing a SysML profile that translates planning concepts from the Planning Domain Definition Language (PDDL) into reusable stereotypes and formal OCL constraints, he enables the automated generation of PDDL files directly from system models. This contribution bridges a critical gap between model-based systems engineering and AI-driven planning, offering a powerful tool for automating complex decision-making in aerospace and beyond.
