Gilberto Arantes is a leading figure in space robotics, whose work is foundational to the future of autonomous on-orbit servicing (OOS). His research centers on the critical challenge of enabling spacecraft to autonomously perform complex maneuvers, such as rendezvous and docking, with non-cooperating targets—including failed or malfunctioning satellites.
