About
Fuminori Sato is a leading figure in urological surgery, with a primary focus on advancing minimally invasive techniques, particularly laparoendoscopic single-site surgery (LESS). His major contribution is demonstrating the feasibility and safety of non-robotic LESS in urology through large-scale, multi-institutional studies. His landmark paper, "Laparoendoscopic single‐site surgeries: A multicenter experience of 469 cases in Japan," reports on the largest series of its kind at the time, analyzing 469 consecutive cases across nine academic institutions. This work provided critical evidence that LESS could be performed effectively without robotic assistance, helping to standardize the approach and expand its adoption.
