About
Eugen Trinka is a leading figure in epileptology, whose research has fundamentally advanced the understanding and surgical treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE). His work centers on refining stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG) techniques to precisely localize deep-seated seizure foci and define the epileptogenic zone (EZ) in patients who do not respond to medication. A key contribution is his pioneering evaluation of frameless neuronavigation systems, such as the VarioGuide®, demonstrating their accuracy and low morbidity in guiding SEEG electrode placement.
