Eishin Yaoita is a leading figure in renal proteomics, whose work has fundamentally advanced our understanding of kidney glomerulus biology. His primary research focuses on the molecular characterization of the glomerulus, the critical filtering unit of the kidney, using high-throughput proteomic techniques. Yaoita’s landmark contribution is the creation of the first comprehensive two-dimensional electrophoretic protein profile of the normal human kidney glomerulus.
