About
Desok Kim is a biomedical researcher whose work bridges cancer biology and quantitative imaging. His key research areas include prostate cancer progression, androgen receptor signaling, and the development of image analysis tools for histopathology. Kim’s major contribution lies in elucidating the mechanisms of castration-resistant prostate cancer. His highly cited 2002 study on the CWR22 xenograft model—cited over 70 times—demonstrated that androgen receptor expression persists and drives cellular proliferation even after androgen deprivation, providing critical insight into the transition from hormone-dependent to recurrent growth.
