Dayong Zhuang is a surgical researcher specializing in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted thyroid and parathyroid surgery, with a particular focus on cosmetically favorable approaches for patients with thyroid malignancies. His work has centered on advancing remote-access robotic techniques — most notably the bilateral axillo-breast approach (BABA) and the transoral vestibular approach — as scar-free alternatives to conventional open thyroidectomy, with special attention to young women and pediatric patients for whom visible neck scarring carries significant quality-of-life implications.
