About
David F. Gaieski is a leading emergency medicine and critical care researcher whose work has fundamentally shaped the management of sepsis and cardiac arrest. His primary research areas include the early detection, resuscitation, and systems-based care of sepsis, as well as therapeutic hypothermia and post-cardiac arrest care. Gaieski is renowned for pioneering the implementation of early goal-directed therapy and developing protocols that integrate telemedicine to improve sepsis outcomes, as demonstrated in his recent work on an end-to-end sepsis solution incorporating expert teleconsultation. With over 100 publications and more than 10,000 citations, his studies have been instrumental in establishing evidence-based guidelines for emergency department resuscitation. Notably, he has led landmark trials on the use of therapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest and has been a key figure in the "Sepsis Six" care bundle initiatives.
