Christian Detter is a pioneering cardiac surgeon whose research has fundamentally shaped the field of robotic and minimally invasive cardiac surgery. Working at the forefront of surgical innovation during the late 1990s and early 2000s, Detter became one of the earliest clinical adopters and investigators of computer-enhanced robotic surgical systems, most notably the ZEUS telemanipulator, for performing endoscopic coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).
