Dr. Carlo Leone is a pioneering head and neck surgeon whose work centers on advancing minimally invasive approaches for complex laryngeal pathologies. His primary research focuses on transoral robotic surgery (TORS) and its application in challenging scenarios where traditional transoral laser microsurgery (TLM) proves inadequate. In his landmark 2014 study, "Successful Application of Transoral Robotic Surgery in Failures of Traditional Transoral Laser Microsurgery: Critical Considerations," Dr. Leone demonstrated that TORS can effectively salvage cases with difficult laryngeal exposure—a critical limitation of conventional TLM.
