Dr. Bentong Yu is a leading thoracic surgeon whose research focuses on advancing minimally invasive surgical techniques for esophageal diseases, particularly esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and motility disorders. His most impactful contribution is the landmark 2021 study comparing robot-assisted minimally invasive esophagectomy (RAMIE) with conventional minimally invasive esophagectomy (MIE), which has garnered 193 citations.
