Dr. Alireza Aminsharifi is a pioneering urologic surgeon and researcher whose work centers on advancing minimally invasive surgical techniques, particularly single-port robotic surgery. His major contributions lie in refining and expanding the applications of the da Vinci single-port (SP) robotic platform for urological procedures. Through comparative studies, he has demonstrated that single-port robotic radical prostatectomy—whether via extraperitoneal, transperitoneal, or perineal approaches—can achieve perioperative outcomes comparable to or better than traditional multiport surgery, while reducing invasiveness and potentially enabling outpatient care.
