About
Alexandr Pinkhasov is a urologic surgeon and researcher whose work centers on improving functional outcomes in prostate cancer surgery and advancing gender-affirming surgical techniques. His most impactful contribution is the development and validation of a 24-month incontinence nomogram following robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP), published in 2022. Drawing on prospectively acquired data from 680 men, this study integrates multiple known risk factors into a predictive tool that helps clinicians counsel patients on their individual likelihood of post-surgical incontinence—a concern that remains one of the most feared complications for prostate cancer patients. With 36 citations, this work has quickly become a reference point in the field. More recently, Pinkhasov has extended his expertise in robotic surgery to transgender care, co-authoring a 2023 manuscript on revision vaginoplasty with robotic assistance for obliterated neovagina, a technically challenging procedure that addresses a critical need in gender-affirming surgery. His research bridges oncologic outcomes and quality-of-life considerations, demonstrating a commitment to patient-centered innovation.
