About
Alex Kamadu is a leading voice in neurorehabilitation and assistive technology, with a focused mission to bridge critical gaps in rehabilitation access across Africa. His work centers on the intersection of rehabilitation robotics, assistive technologies, and health systems strengthening, particularly for underserved populations. Kamadu’s most notable contribution stems from his leadership in convening the 2024 ICORR-SASNET Ghana Neurorehabilitation Robotics workshop, which brought together 22 speakers and 27 attendees from nine countries. The resulting proceedings, published in 2025, offer pragmatic recommendations for improving access to rehabilitation robots and neurorehabilitation services across the continent. This landmark paper, already garnering early citations, highlights his ability to translate complex technical challenges into actionable policy and practice. Through this work, Kamadu is shaping a new paradigm for equitable neurorehabilitation, ensuring that cutting-edge assistive technologies are not limited to high-resource settings. His efforts are laying the groundwork for scalable, context-appropriate solutions that could transform rehabilitation outcomes for millions in Africa.
