About
Ahmad Shabsigh is a leading urologic oncologist whose research has fundamentally shaped the modern surgical management of bladder and kidney cancers, with a particular focus on the comparative effectiveness of robotic versus open surgery. He is best known as a principal investigator of the landmark RAZOR trial (760 citations), the first multi-institutional, randomized phase 3 study to demonstrate that robot-assisted radical cystectomy is non-inferior to open surgery for progression-free survival in bladder cancer patients. This seminal work, along with subsequent analyses on 3-year outcomes (115 citations) and health-related quality of life (34 citations), has provided crucial evidence for surgical decision-making.
