About
Agnes Hurtuk is a leading head and neck surgeon whose pioneering work has helped define the modern role of transoral robotic surgery (TORS). Her research focuses on two critical areas: evaluating long-term, health-related quality-of-life (HRQOL) outcomes for patients undergoing TORS, and establishing the clinical safety and efficacy of this minimally invasive technique. In her landmark 2011 study, "Quality‐of‐Life Outcomes in Transoral Robotic Surgery" (100 citations), she provided some of the first prospective, longitudinal evidence that TORS can preserve functional outcomes while effectively treating oropharyngeal tumors.
