About
P. Neyret is a leading figure in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, with a career-long focus on knee biomechanics, ligament injuries, and joint reconstruction. His research has fundamentally advanced our understanding of rotational knee stability, particularly in the context of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries. In a landmark 2009 multicenter cohort study (86 citations), Neyret demonstrated that patients with contralateral ACL injuries exhibit significantly greater rotational laxity than healthy volunteers, providing crucial evidence for the role of rotational instability in ACL injury etiology. This work has influenced preoperative assessment and surgical planning for ligament reconstruction. More recently, Neyret has pioneered innovations in knee arthroplasty, notably showing in a 2018 comparative study (77 citations) that robotic-assisted lateral unicompartmental knee arthroplasty enables faster return to sport than conventional techniques.
