About
Dr. Mehdi Kebria is a pioneering figure in gynecologic oncology and robotic surgery, whose work has significantly advanced minimally invasive approaches to complex oncologic and obstetric challenges. His research centers on the development and validation of novel robotic platforms for surgical treatment of gynecologic cancers, with a particular focus on expanding the boundaries of what is achievable through single-port and peripartum procedures. Dr. Kebria’s landmark 2011 study, which evaluated a novel single-port robotic platform in cadaver models for gynecologic oncology procedures (42 citations), established foundational evidence for reducing surgical trauma and improving recovery times. He further demonstrated the feasibility of robotic-assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy in high-risk peripartum scenarios, such as placenta increta following second-trimester pregnancy loss (10 citations), challenging traditional open-surgery paradigms. Most recently, his 2025 work on robotic surgical approaches for peritoneal carcinomatosis (2 citations) signals a bold expansion into managing advanced metastatic disease. Through these contributions, Dr. Kebria has not only enriched the technical repertoire of robotic surgery but also improved safety and outcomes for patients facing some of the most daunting diagnoses in women’s health.
