About

Mantana Dhanachai is a leading radiation oncologist whose pioneering work has advanced the precision treatment of complex intracranial tumors and vascular malformations using CyberKnife® robotic radiosurgery. Her research focuses on hypofractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (HSRT) and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) for perioptic pituitary adenomas, vestibular schwannomas, and brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). Her most cited paper (2015, 32 citations) established the clinical efficacy of hypofractionated CyberKnife radiotherapy for pituitary adenomas adjacent to the optic pathway, addressing the critical challenge of protecting vision while achieving tumor control. She further demonstrated the long-term safety and effectiveness of this approach for perioptic tumors (2018, 19 citations) and vestibular schwannomas (2021, 13 citations). Notably, her comprehensive study of 170 brain AVMs treated with frameless robotic SRS (2021, 8 citations) provided valuable long-term outcome data, confirming durable obliteration rates with minimal toxicity. Through her rigorous clinical research, Dr. Dhanachai has helped establish frameless robotic radiosurgery as a reliable, non-invasive alternative for patients with anatomically challenging lesions, significantly impacting neuro-oncology practice in Thailand and beyond.
