About

Karen Lok Yi Wong is an emerging Canadian researcher whose work sits at the intersection of aging, technology, and long-term care (LTC). Her scholarship focuses on two interconnected domains: the social and emotional well-being of older adults in institutional care settings, and the integration of artificial intelligence-enabled robots into those environments. Wong's early high-impact work examined how COVID-19 pandemic restrictions intensified loneliness among LTC residents, a qualitative study that has accumulated 51 citations and helped shape pandemic-era policy conversations around resident well-being.
