David C. K. Yuen is a pioneer in vision-based mobile robot localization and mapping, with a career focused on solving the fundamental challenge of how robots can understand and navigate unknown environments. His research centers on simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), natural landmark detection, and panoramic image processing.
