About
Chia‐Che Chen is a leading colorectal surgeon whose research focuses on advancing minimally invasive surgical techniques for rectal cancer, particularly through robotic and transanal approaches. His major contributions center on developing and refining robotic transanal total mesorectal excision (R-taTME) and robotic transanal minimally invasive surgery (R-TAMIS), procedures that offer patients less invasive options for ultra-low and complex rectal tumors. Chen’s work has demonstrated the safety and feasibility of these techniques, with his most-cited paper on combined R-taTME and single-site plus one-port surgery (49 citations) establishing a novel operative approach.
