Abstract

The most attractive reason to use carbon fibers is light weight and higher strength than conventional metal materials. Graphite has a high elastic modulus, strength and thermal conductivity in the plate direction. The advantages of pitch based carbon fibers are mostly caused by these characteristics. Typical application of high modulus carbon fibers in industrial sectors is roller and robotic arms.
