Abstract
The aim of this paper is to discuss the factors involved in the assessment of a robot's measuring performance. This includes a discussion of the sources and nature of errors and then describes techniques for determining them. The results presented are those obtained for an ASEA 6kg industrial robot fitted with a laser optocator as the measurement sensor.
