Abstract
Most landmine detection problems using mobile robots have been solved as a standard navigation and target identification problem implemented for the application of landmine detection. This paper solves the problem of landmine detection using low cost mobile robot from a direct perspective. Locating the object is solved using a grid based map and exhaustive search strategy that is effective in terms of accuracy. The advantage of this method is that the data reduction and analysis is done in real time.
