Abstract

In today's world, agriculture plays an important role in global production. According to the data released by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, about 3.78 billion people in the world are engaged in agriculture or agriculture related work, which accounts for 48.4% of the global population by 2020. In terms of controlling agricultural diseases and pests and weeding, artificial pesticide spraying still occupies a dominant position. Artificial pesticide spraying is not only inefficient, but also affects health and causes environmental pollution. In this paper, a novel pesticide spraying robot is designed, which is equipped with Beidou Global Positioning System and sensor system to realize automatic spraying operation. Compared with the traditional manual spraying, the robot can greatly increase the efficiency of agricultural operations, reduce the amount of agricultural chemicals, reduce the labor intensity of farmers, and reduce the environmental pollution of pesticides. The research and development of the robot has promoted the intelligent development of agriculture.
