Abstract

Phase center is one important design parameter of antenna engineering, and accurate measurement of the actual phase center location is of great significance for fine performance and structure optimization. In this paper, a method to measure the phase center of a novel outdoor Wi-Fi dual-band dual-polarized antenna is proposed. With help of robotic near-field testing system, the phase center of the antenna was precisely verified at 12mm-25mm above the radiator across full frequency band, with tendency to drift away from the surface as frequency increases. Besides, the accuracy of the test results are verified by full wave simulation and far field testing range. This report sets foundation for further radome design and structural miniaturization of next generation multi-band Wi-Fi base station antennas.
