Abstract
The Industry 4.0 is a contemporary trend in industrial product manufacturing that involves the convergence of numerous emerging technologies in order to increase productivity in smart way. Meanwhile, through the development of autonomous manufacturing processes for various industrial sectors, intelligent robotics have had a significant impact on smart industrialization. Intelligent robotic technology in smart manufacturing processes can thereby be a significant accelerator for initiating Industry 4.0 in developing countries like Bangladesh. Despite providing Bangladesh with significant opportunity to acquire rapid growth, the adoption of advanced technologies in the industrial sector might pose a number of obstacles. Therefore, this article investigates the challenges and perspectives to adopt Industry 4.0 in Bangladesh as well as the role of intelligent robotics for smart industry in facilitating the adoption process. This study explores the country’s existing industrial situation with its challenges and potential options for overcoming the barriers to smart industrialisation. Furthermore, a technology assessment has been conducted to determine the challenges and appropriateness of intelligent robotic technology in industrial automation for Bangladesh’s adoption of Industry 4.0.
