Abstract

Medical robotics plays an increasingly important role in healthcare as it has clear potential for improving diagnostics and therapeutic capabilities, lowering the number of medical errors and improving the overall quality and cost effectiveness of Thailand's health care delivery system. It has been predicted that in 2025, the size of the robot market will reach US$ 66.4 billion. Thailand's advancement in medical robotics is critical for improving the capabilities and competitiveness of the country's healthcare system. As a result, the Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS) and the Ministry of Science and Technology, has established the advanced medical robotics program, under the flagship policy of the Ministry of Science and Technology, to improve the strength and competitiveness of the country both economically and socially. This paper outlines the development of a Technology Roadmap (TRM) for the Center of Advanced Medical Robotics with the aim of developing medical robotics and services, enhancing product standards and developing human resources.
