Abstract

A high performance system for stepper motor control in a microstepping mode is presented,which was designed and performed with FPGA and high-performed dedicated integrated circuits IXMS 150 PSI.By applying cos/sin look-up table in FPGA,the microstepping control system can be achieved,which improves the positioning accuracy and eliminates low speed ripple and resonance effects in a stepper motor electrical drive.The same microstepping system is ideal for robotics,printers,X-Y tables and can facilitate the construction of very sophisticated positioning control system.
