Abstract
Medical robotics has been playing an increasingly important role in the surgical areas world wide. A series of surgical robots havs already been developed overseas. In China, researchers also paid much attention to researches on brain neurosurgery, orthopaedics, scatheless inspection, cornea transplantation and etc. The development and application of medical robots, at home and abroad and such key techniques as surgical robot prototype design, 3D medical imaging modeling, virtual surgery simulation, teleoperation and communications via networks, are reviewed in details. The trend of future development is forecast as well.
