Application of cloud-based social robotics in cognitive exercises for elderly people

Abstract

This paper demonstrates the application of cloudbased social robots in real world scenario - anti-dementia exercises for elderly people. Social robotics is a major issue in the field of rehabilitation and treatment of patients with dementia. Human-robot interaction is often helpful in expressing the patient’s true feelings. We also found differences in behaviour of patients during a human-human and human-robot interaction. For better understanding of the concept, however, we first need to look at the idea behind the Wizard of Oz.
