Abstract
We started developing a communication robot mounted Japanese dialogue system for people with dementia. For this purpose, we recorded the dialogues between caregivers and people with dementia in the nursing home. We call people living in the nursing home recipients. From our observation in the dialogue corpus, we found the differentiation between caregiver’s and recipient’s utterances. Also we chose topics that were frequently spoken based on analysis of the dialogues classified with some viewpoints, that is, the old memories, current topics, the dialogue related to their activities, or daily care. Based on the characteristics of their utterances in dialogue corpus, we extracted 6 items that we need to consider for a communication system for nursing.
